Eblana Photonics announces new TO-38 based TOSAs - Targeted at 4Gbit/s Fiber Channel applications in the 1310 nm wavelength band. Dublin Ireland, 06 Mar, 2006 - Eblana Photonics Ltd, which supplies market disrupting laser components for leading edge advanced networking applications, today annnounced a breakthrough laser product targeted at single mode 4Gbit/s Fiber Channel applications. This product series, the EP1310-FC4X and its TOSA version, the EP1310-FC4X-OSA, expands on Eblana’s recently announced LDM product series for 10GBASE-LX4 applications and the 1310nm DFB laser replacement, the EP1310-DM laser series which is targeted at price sensitive Fiber-To-The-Home (FTTH) GEPON PX20 and GPON applications. “One of the key challenges facing the communications industry today is not just the high price but the high total ownership cost of quality components for mass market Enterprise and Access applications” said James O’Gorman, Eblana Photonics CEO. “The best way to reduce overall system cost is through the use of price sensitive, high quality components with uniform, repeatable characteristics ”. Daniel Tine, Eblana’s Head of North American Business Development and Sales stated, “The FC4X product series meets all requirements of the Fiber Channel protocol and, like all Eblana products, it is not only aggressively priced but has unbeatable performance that improves our customers’ first pass system manufacturing yield and profitability”. Eblana will show its full line of cutting edge laser products at the OFC/NFOEC conference in Anaheim, CA., March 5-9, at Hall B, Stand 1547. Interested parties can also schedule private briefings on the EP1310 family and other higher speed, next generation Eblana product developments at the conference by contacting us at sales@eblanaphotonics.com or by contacting their regional representative listed in our website: http://www.eblanaphotonics.com, or visit us at OFC 2006.
