Laser Diode Components for Metro / Access Systems (Eblana Photonics)

On June 6, Eblana Photonics announced new funding from ACT Venture Capital and Enterprise Ireland that brings its total investment to EUR 3.6 million in just over one year. Eblana is a spin out from Trinity College Dublin, the Irish National Microelectronics Research Center, and Enterprise Ireland, who are shareholders in the company. Other investments in the company have come from a combination of Irish and US private equity sources. EblanaTs aim is to become the vendor of choice for laser diode components used in metro and access systems. Its first products include pump lasers and singlemode transmitters that feature a Multiple Quantum Well chip design, a scalable semiconductor fabrication process. Contact: info@eblanaphotonics.com
